CERAMIC ICONS
The ancient Russian roots of ceramic icons come from the ceramids of Pskov, old-fashioned glazed ceramic icons of the 16th century, which decorated the facades of the Cathedral of Boris and Gleb in Starica (1558-1561), which was disassembled in the 18th century, and were inserted into the masonry of the Assumption Cathedral in Dmitrov.
